ABOUT DR. JAMESHA FORD
If you've ever felt like you're doing everything "right" but still struggling with your health, you're not alone.
I've spent years helping people navigate weight, metabolism, chronic disease, and behavior change, and I've come to believe that most people don't need more rules, more restriction, or another quick fix. They need a better understanding of their body.
My passion for this work is both professional and personal.
Like many of the people I work with, I've experienced my own journey with weight. I've lost weight, gained weight, lost it again, and learned firsthand that lasting change requires more than motivation. It requires understanding how your body works, what influences your metabolism, and how to create habits that can be sustained in real life.
That experience changed the way I view health.
After earning my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, I completed my Family Medicine residency through Cleveland Clinic, where I developed a deep appreciation for evidence-based medicine and whole-person care. I later became board certified in both Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine and pursued additional training in integrative medicine, lifestyle medicine and functional medicine principles to better understand the many factors that influence health beyond a diagnosis or prescription.
My work has extended far beyond the exam room. Over the years, I've owned and operated a fitness facility, led small-group weight loss cohorts, taught Food Is Medicine programs, and spoken to community and professional audiences on wellness, lifestyle medicine, and metabolic health. Across every setting, I've witnessed the same thing: when people truly understand the "why" behind their health, they're empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes.
Those experiences ultimately inspired the creation of Olive Wellness.
Today, I help individuals, organizations, and communities better understand the factors driving weight, metabolism, energy, and long-term health through personalized consulting, transformational programs, and metabolic health education.
My goal isn't simply to help people lose weight.
My goal is to help people understand themselves.
Because when you understand your body, you're better equipped to trust your path.
And that is where lasting change begins.
